The DaVinci is a powerful portable vaporizer that works for both concentrates and dry herbs. It's affordably priced for most people making it a great option for beginners who want quality that won’t break the bank. The flavor profiles are nice, the clouds are decent and it's super user friendly with personal temperature controls and a bright screen displaying everything.
It does have some drawbacks (below) but if you’re looking for something you can pick up and start using right away, the DaVinci is a solid option.
Quick Overview of the DaVinci
The DaVinci ($129.99 from VapeWorld) is a powerful dry herb and concentrate vaporizer that’s both simple to use and as customizable as you want to get. We found it works well for a home unit since it allows pass through vaping while charging and as a portable unit for short trips.
The battery life is pretty short so you won’t take it on longer trips but the upgraded snorkel mouthpiece makes it convenient when you’re skiing or snowboarding since you can keep the DaVinci in your jacket pocket and the snorkel reaches your mouth making it ultra stealthy.
The construction of the DaVinci is well thought out and features a soft rubber exterior making it pleasant to hold, durable and scratch resistant. And the flexible mouthpiece unscrews for easy travel and won’t hurt your teeth if you accidentally bang into it.
The DaVinci gives you great flavor profiles and vapor you can actually see but if you’re chasing clouds, you may have to fiddle with the temperature settings to find your ideal spot. We found that temperatures between 375 - 385 F work the best for dry herb.

Design Quality and Feel
The DaVinci’s overall design and feel speak to the person who wants discreet vaping. As soon as you take the DaVinci out of it's box, you’ll become enamored with it's rugged matte finish and walkie talkie like appearance and the first thing you'll want to do is go skiing with it.
Fortunately you can because the exterior really is durable. It's been drop tested 6 times from 10 feet without having any critical issues so, if you drop if from your lap a few times you should be fine.
The DaVinci’s size (4 x 1 x 2.25 inches) easily fits in your palm for low profile vaping but doesn’t travel well in your jean pocket. If you’re bringing it with you somewhere you’ll have better luck putting it in your bag or jacket pocket.
The removable mouthpiece is made from carbon fiber which is supposed to be ultra durable but it came unraveled for us after just a little while. If you use the DaVinci, you may want to get a backup to have on hand. Additionally, the whole package has a matte finish that doesn’t reflect light which adds to the stealth appeal of the DaVinci.
As far as usability design goes, there’s a few innovative features I found to be useful. When you flip the lid up to pack the bowl, you’ll notice there's a little hidden compartment in there as well.
This was handy for storing extra weed or one of the concentrate canisters.
The brush also slides in this same area making cleaning convenient (the brush is a little smaller than I’d like but still, it's convenient to have). The brush also doubles as a tool for pulling the rubber lid of the oil canisters so you'll need this if you’re vaping concentrates and oils.
There were a few things I didn’t love about the design though. For one, when you flip the lid up to pack a new bowl, it's a little cramped to get your fingers in. This isn’t a deal breaker but it could be easier.
The other thing about design I didn’t love was the cleaning. There’s two main screens you’ll need to remove and clean or replace from time to time. The screen in the chamber was a pain to remove so I had to finagle it out with a little needle which probably took me 10 minutes before I got it out the first time. I really didn’t like this but again, it's not a deal breaker and after I figured it out, it got easier.
Overall, the DaVinci is a solid experience. It feels great in your hand and you can tell the parts have been thought out and well machined for durability.

How to Use the DaVinci Herb Vaporizer
Using the DaVinci couldn’t be any easier:
- Break down your herb: use a quality grinder to ensure you get a consistent medium-fine grind. Bigger chunks mixed with fine grinds just doesn’t get you the best results.
- Open the chamber of the vaporizer by lifting the lid up and to the left.
- Place your bud in the chamber filling it to the top snugly without packing it down too tight.
- Click the power button on and then use the (+) or (-) buttons on the front to set your ideal temperature.
- Let the DaVinci heat up and, once your temperature's reached, begin vaping.
It's super simple to use so even the most novice individual can pick it up and begin vaping within 5 minutes of opening the box. The interface on the front of the DaVinci clearly shows your battery life and temperature settings. It also remembers your last temperature so you don’t have to reset it when you turn it back on saving you precious time.
DaVinci Vapor Quality & Experience
The vapor quality from the DaVinci is great quality for a model in this price range. We found that you get the best vape if you’re using dry herb since you can play with the temperature settings to get it how you like it.
However, the concentrates were a little disappointing. I couldn’t get great vape from wax and it burned up my materials pretty quickly. But I’m a bigger fan of dry herb so it wasn’t necessarily a big deal for me.
The DaVinci comes with two concentrate canisters. One has a cotton ball inside and it's for your liquids. The other is an empty metal canister for your wax. The wax canister is deep so you’ll need it to heat up before your wax sinks to the bottom and you can begin vaping (takes about a minute). But even with everything working perfectly, I found the DaVinci to be best for dry herb rather than concentrates.
The draw on the DaVinci was great with very little resistance. I found that a medium grind weed works best for maximizing surface area exposed to your heating element while maintaining air flow and getting the best clouds.
One drawback was that both the vapor and DaVinci unit itself get hot after pulling on it a few times. While the level of hotness does change based on the temperature settings you’re using, this can produce a mildly harsh vape and some coughing.
The outside of the unit, like most of the other units I’ve used, gets hot after a little while which isn’t necessarily a huge deal. But, there’s holes on the DaVinci that vent hot air and, if you accidentally put your fingers over them, it's almost hot enough to burn you so you have to be careful here.
The heat up time on the DaVinci takes about a minute so you’re not waiting long before you can start vaping.
An important thing to note, though, is that it heats up faster when the battery's full vs when its dying. I got around any issues with this by getting a car charger (in addition to the micro USB) so it stayed charged pretty much all the time. The DaVinci also allows pass through vaping so when you’re at home you can keep it plugged in for max rips every time.
Overall the vaping quality and experience are great with the DaVinci.

Cons
Conclusion: Is the DaVinci Worth the Money?
Yes, the DaVinci is worth the money. This model’s a few years old at this point meaning you can pick one up for pennies on the dollar to what it used to cost but it doesn’t have the same features as the newer models (the app for example).
That being said, if you’re on a budget and seeking a portable vaporizer for mostly dry herb (with capability for concentrates) that’s going to give you premium vapor with fragrant aroma, you can’t go wrong here. The DaVinci also includes a 2 year warranty so if you break it or something goes wrong at any point, you can always have it replaced.
